Welcome to Calvary UCC, Barto!    I have been serving as the pastor of Calvary since July 1, 2021.  My wife and I moved from Tallmadge, Ohio, where I had pastored a church for the previous 3 years.  As a former long-time resident of Berks County, growing up in Fleetwood, and graduating from Fleetwood High School and Kutztown University, I understand well this area and appreciate both the farmland and the “hill country” of Eastern and Northern Berks.  My interests include music (I am a jazz trumpet player who played with the Dave Stahl big band), military history, reading short stories, and collecting comic books, toys, rocks and minerals. My passions for ministry include children and youth, senior adults, mission, joy and humor, and growing our church with small groups.    

         I am privileged to be the pastor of Christian people at Calvary who are truly welcoming and energized to help others both personally, and through our local

mission connections with non-profits and foundations, with the United Church of Christ, and with other partners in Berks, Montgomery, and Chester Counties.
